More Than A Highlight, A Breakthrough! The Bulgari Serpenti Seduttori Tourbillon

LVMH Watch Week: More Than A Highlight, A Breakthrough! The Bulgari Serpenti Seduttori Tourbillon

For the inaugural LVMH Watch Week, Bulgari didn't leave the ladies behind, launching the Bulgari Serpenti Seduttori Tourbillon, the smallest lady’s tourbillon on the market.

The Serpenti is one of those timepieces that doesn't lack history and is a true icon. It's synonymous with elegance and style. Every time I spot a lady wearing a Serpenti watch, it always signals to me that she has a real flair for fashion. This year, with the introduction of the Bulgari Serpenti Seduttori Tourbillon, the Roman jeweler took an extra step towards the stylish ladies that love horology.

Born To Be Gold

Launched last year, the Serpenti Seduttori was meant to be more of a contemporary update of the iconic Serpenti. The case of the timepiece still fit perfectly like the instantly recognizable Serpenti's case but without the serpent’s body/bracelet that wraps around your wrist. The intricate bracelet is inspired by the geometric motif of a serpent's skin. Discreet and elegant, the Seduttori can adorn a lady's wrist on every occasion. This modern rendition is a beautiful tribute to the timeless icon that is the Serpenti.

Born to Shine

Last year's launch lacked terribly of mechanical options, but since it was the Seduttori’s first year, we knew Bulgari would be testing the waters. And the result was worth the wait! Yesterday at the LVMH Watch Week, Bulgari launched three new versions of the Serpenti Seduttori, all powered by a manual wind tourbillon. A perfect combination of the Swiss watchmaking savoir-faire and the Italian elegance that Bulgari is known for.

Even though the mechanical calibre BVL150 features a tourbillon complication, it’s still quite small and fits into a case that is only 34mm in diameter and 8.9mm thick. In fact, as of today, the Bulgari Serpenti Seduttori Tourbillon is the smallest tourbillon on the market. The size is also a very welcome tribute to the pre-quartz mechanical ladies watches from the early '70s.

As is the case with any true Haute Horlogerie piece, the movement was carefully hand decorated with the traditional Cotes de Genève. And, you can observe the tourbillon through the dial as well in the case back, thanks to a sapphire window that frames the tourbillon.

Bulgari and Ladies

As a brand, Bulgari has always kept the ladies in mind. Extremely fashionable and stylish, their timepieces are often the go-to watch for the ladies aiming for sophisticated elegance. The Serpenti Seduttori Tourbillon is the watch for the female fashion watch lover. Available in either rose or white gold pavé, the timepiece is paired with a matching leather strap and is priced at $82,000 for the white gold and $78,000 for the rose gold.

The full white gold version is paired with a beautiful bracelet where the serpent scales have been carefully set with diamonds. This exquisite piece of jewelry is priced at $151,000 and totals 7.5 carats.
