THE NEW DIVA: THE STRENGTH OF THE SYMBOL

THE NEW DIVA: THE STRENGTH OF THE SYMBOL

Round, opulent and sensual, simple yet sophisticated, resolutely Bulgari: the latest expression of the Diva radiates pure elegance and rewrites the collection’s key characteristics by imprinting them with its own personality.

Following on from the purely jewellery-style creations that rapidly propelled this collection to iconic status, the slender case of the new interpretation features an acetate dial displaying a unique texture in each iteration. Three references introduced in autumn 2015 reaffirm the strength of the symbol.

Bulgari and Rome have been inseparable for over a hundred and thirty years. The elegance and supremacy of Rome has always been an inexhaustible source of inspiration for the Maison. The Diva design, inspired by the Caracalla thermal baths’ mosaic floors on one hand and epitomizing the most glorious period of Rome in the near past - the Dolce Vita, now adopts a softer yet creative approach and evolves into a simpler yet sophisticated version.

The iconic theme of the fan is evolving with the new Diva. After composing an arc of multi-coloured gems nestling together like petals and creating a corolla of stones dancing around the dial, the three new Diva models adopt a calmer yet equally creative approach. The emblematic Diva motif, the finely gem set fan now serves as the strap lug and serves to connect the dainty circular case in 18K pink or white gold to the satin strap symbolising the ties binding the Divas of today to those of the future.

Round, opulent, sensual, romantic and very feminine: the latest expression of the Diva radiates pure elegance and rewrites the collection’s key characteristics by imprinting them with its own personality.

This unusual expression of the theme is matched by a creation which is endowed with a dial entirely set with brilliant-cut diamonds as a reminder of Bulgari’s historical expertise in this domain. The other references express the theme by an entirely unexpected choice of the dial texture for 2 of the timepieces: the acetate.

This sophisticated aesthetic highlights the use of a sturdy high-tech material. It stems from an ingenious process that involves heating a natural cotton and wood fibre mix to produce acetate. The robust, organic material is then cut into fine strips that are treated and polished to form dials that are each entirely unique in terms of their texture and design.

The process resulting in a unique random appearance enables the Diva watches to display an original two-tone striated brown and speckled white face. Two of the models are endowed with subtle jewellery accents in the shape of diamonds set on the bezel as well as the fan-shaped strap lug, while the most eloquent reminder of Bulgari’s historical expertise in this domain is provided by the third new model featuring a dial entirely set with brilliant-cut diamonds.

The crown of all three versions is adorned with a cabochon-cut pink rubellite that has become the jeweller’s unmistakable signature touch on its feminine creations.
